March 1

What a fun bunch of Wacky Kids!  We laugh together so much - I just love this group!

Visiting the greenhouse at our high school where the plants for our economic project are being produced:

Psalm 121

Recorders - "What is that beautiful music coming down the hall...." May or may not be the recorder. It is that time of year for our fourth graders to learn the recorder. A GREEN note came home today. Please return the bottom half of the green paper by MARCH 8. Thanks!

Boots - This weather has been crazy melting snow so quickly!  Which leaves our playground a pretty wet place.  The kids are always trying to sneak outside without boots (and sometimes they are successful😞) but I try to catch them as much as possible to keep those boots on yet while there is still so much water out there.  Please continue to send the winter gear to school so that it is available to us as long as the playground is still "wintery" even though the sun is shining and it is near 40º (yea!).

Lunch Choices - Be sure to check out the new and improved hot lunch choices for this coming month (click on schools, Rose Park, Hot Lunch menu)!  Lunches are still free everyday for everyone.😁

Be Kind - Last month when we were on our walk in downtown Holland promoting kindness, we met a nice woman who was so affirming about what we were doing.  She made a point to follow up with us, Mrs. VanderZwaag and myself via email later, and this week she dropped off some gifts for us in the school office.  It turns out she had a college aged daughter who died nearly three years ago (I did not share the cause of death with my 4th graders).  Her daughter's friends had written notes about her for the memorial service and many of them commented on her kindness.  In order to validate her life, this mom started a campaign for kindness.  The keychain your child comes home with tomorrow was a gift in honor of Gia, the kind woman's daughter.  We hope to be able to reconnect with this lady again in the future when we can be outdoors.  She likes to talk with kids about the importance of kindness, and maybe share a book with us too.

Bible test - We've been learning all about Elijah and the work he did as a prophet of God.  This week we will be ready for a test.  A study sheet came home today and the test is planned for Wednesday.

Conferences - Parent/Teacher Conferences will again occur via zoom this spring on March 29 and 31.  If you would like to sign up for a time, please use this link.  The master password is gohc.
