Delta Math:
We are excited this year to welcome Mandi Hulst as our Math Interventionist.  She will be using our Delta Math Screener to identify students who need a little additional help on some targeted skills.  These skills are identified as essential for your child to master their foundational math skills as they move throughout the grades. We have determined that if they are lacking mastery in these specific foundational skills it can impact their achievement in middle and high school courses as well as on their ACT/SAT.

If your child falls into this category at some point during the school year, they will be pulled out of math for 10-15 minutes up to 2 times per week to work on a specific skill. As soon as they master the targeted skill, they will be moved out of the group.

If you have further questions regarding this math intervention, please feel free to contact me

FRIDAY, October 4

How Great Thou Art! Thursday was such a special day! There are no words to describe the glimpse of heaven that we all received when the children, grandparents, parents, and friends sang together, "Then I shall bow with humble adoration, And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art. Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee." Thank you for a great day....I went home thanking God for the love of grandparents and family friends. I watched as they different generations sat together and read through books. It was very obvious that all these special friends hold big places in the hearts of our students.

Take a peek at our pictures from special day with grandparents and friends!

THINK! ENERGY: DUE TUESDAY!
On Tuesday, your child came home with a THINK! ENERGY Take Action Kit.  This kit will ask you and your child to work on some energy related changes in your home.  There is a Student Guide included in the kit that will walk you through everything you can do with your kit.  Additionally, there was a white Home Energy Worksheet.  That worksheet is homework and will be due back to school by Tuesday, October 8.  (I do not need the Family Activity Guide book back.)  That gives you a couple weeks to read through and work through the guide and complete the experiments and installations provided.  Please note, if you are not interested in installing everything in the kit, you do not have to!  The white home energy sheet simply asks if you installed the products or not.  We still get credit toward the grant for the rest of the work you do, even if you do not install everything.
