What are we learning...
Bible: Learning how the Israelites worshipped God in the wilderness and the rules and festivals that were set up to help them stay close to God.
Math: Wrapping up our unit on geometry, area, and perimeter.
Writing: Beginning to draft our Literary Essay.
Reading: Learning how to become a researcher in informational text
Social Studies: Learning about the history of Michigan.

Wednesday is a half-day. Dismissal is at 11:30!

TULIP TIME INFO: The Tulip Time parade is coming soon! Here is your information for the Tulip Time Parade on Thursday, May 12 that was sent home on the PINK PAPER ON FRIDAY.
*K & 5th  graders will be “dismissed” at 11:30. 1st-4th graders will stay at school. Your child will need to have a SACK LUNCH to eat at school. There will NOT be lunch provided on this day.

*Your child must wear their Dutch Costume or  Gardner Clothes in the parade. If your child does not wear it to school in the morning, please make sure he/she has all parts of the costume at school. Please send COMFY shoes for the parade! (No wooden shoes.) If you wish to help your child with their parade clothes, you may stop by school between 11:30-12:00.

*After the students eat lunch, we will board the buses in the early afternoon to head to our parade lineup. We are in the 2nd Division of the parade

*When Rose Park reaches the end of the parade, please pick your child up promptly at the FIRE STATION by Kollen Park. Please note - pick up is when Rose Park reaches the end of the parade route, not at the conclusion of the parade.  Many families watch their child pass in the parade, and immediately make their way to the pick up location.   Please try to be on time, as it becomes very congested as the other schools finish.

*If the Thursday kid’s parade is canceled due to bad weather, we will still have a half day. If this happens, Friday will become a half day and we will use this same format for Friday. You will hear more information from Mrs. Rynsburger if this is the case.

FIELD TRIP: We will be having a field trip to the Outdoor Discovery Center on Wednesday, May 18. Please check out the sign up link for times of the field trip. I am in need of 2 parent volunteers. May 18 - Field Trip Sign Up
