Maker's Week (NOTE CHANGE):
Our Maker's Week is from Feb. 25-March 1 (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri). I am excited for this week of problem solving and creating. There are a few items that we are in need of for our creations.

- Paper towel cardboard tubes

Market Day:

Fourth grade Market Day is coming on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 27!  In conjunction with their economics unit, fourth graders have each produced a product that they will have available to sell to the student body (items like pencil holders, bracelets, cookies, keychains, etc.).  All Rose Park students will get to shop at the Market that afternoon.  We are asking that each student bring no more than $3 to spend at Market Day in order to assure that there are enough products to go around.  A small shopping bag may also be useful to help carry the purchases.  Thanks for your help with this!

FEBRUARY 8, 2019

100 days already?!  The school year is going by so quickly. What a blessing to share these days with your children. The students have grown and learned so much in these 100 days. As this year moves forward and we learn more about large addition problems, we learn how to read information books, and we continue to talk together about how God holds us. It is He that gives us a purpose and a mission from cradle to grave. A mission for young and old to be a disciple of Christ and build His Kingdom of Heaven here.

Valentine's Day Celebration:
We are going to celebrate Valentine's Day with a small party on Wednesday, Feb. 14th. A class list was sent home on Friday. Please make sure that if your child is bringing Valentine's that they bring a card for each student in the class OR for students of the same gender. We will be passing out these invitations in the afternoon and celebrating with some pink lemonade and some fresh fruit. If you would like to donate some fresh fruit for our party, send me an email!

Report Cards:
Just a reminder: In 3rd grade, we only give a letter grade in math. The rest of the areas are measured with the number scale of...
3 - Mastered (above) - They have mastered the skill and can perform if asked.
2 - Proficient (on track) - They are growing in the skill and their learning is on track for 3rd grade. 
1 - Progressing (growth needed) - They are struggling to preform the skill on their own and this skill is an area of growth.

Blanket Fort Celebration (RESCHEDULED):

On MON, Feb. 4, we are going to have some fun in the classroom. We are going to make a blanket fort in the classroom. I will provide the blankets and the students just need to bring a stuffed animal. (The stuffed animal must be able to fit in their backpack.)

Skating Party:
We will have another skating party and I WILL be there :) Rose Park is invited to skate at Home Roller Rink on February 7 from 6-7:45. The cost is $5 for the children.

100th Day of School (CHANGE OF DATE):

Friday, Feb 8 will be our 100th day of school! WOW! We are looking forward to celebrating 100 days of God's faithfulness together. In celebration, we are encouraging the students to dress like they are 100 years old! (No wheelchairs or walkers, our classroom just isn't big enough!) Don't feel like you need to go and buy things....just get creative with this!
