Investigating the Laws of Gravity and Motion

Hudson and Mason Arnoldink had fun during conferences this week

On Wednesday, we had some fun events.
First we celebrated Greta and Burke's 9th birthday.
Then we completed an escape room for math. We did it with 2 seconds left on the clock.
Finally, we learned a line dance as a whole school.

We learned about the gifts that God gives us. He gave our school the gift of Ian, who has Downs Syndrome. We were able to celebrate who he is and how he is a blessing to us.

We were even treated to some popcorn and juice.

A Peek Into Our Learning:
Math: Understanding the relationship between multiplication and division, especially with our x10s facts
Bible: Learning about the call of Abram and the promises God gave him
Reading: Celebrated our growth as a reader. We start a new unit on Monday!
Writing: Continuing to edit our personal narrative draft
Science: Learning about the Laws of Gravity and Laws of Motion

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to meet with me in the classroom. I praise God for all the positive and encouraging conversations we had! Thankful for effective communication and understanding. Thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your child's education. It is truly an honor.

Vision Testing: On Wednesday morning, our Rose Park students are given a free vision test at school. If you have any concern, please let me know how I can help guide and comfort. Thanks!

ICHAT Form: In your child's folder you found an optional form to fill. We are instructed by our county to have parents or family members fill this out if they are interested in helping on a field trip or in a classroom. We have had to fill these out before and were informed that the form needs to be updated yearly. If you plan to help out with field trips or classroom activities, please fill that form out and return it to the front office. Thank you for understanding!

Announcement from Elementary Principals: Traditionally our elementary students have participated in the community swim program offered graciously by the Holland Aquatic Center. This year, as we do not know what the year will entail regarding loss of instructional time due to illness and potential quarantines, we will not be using school instructional time to participate in the swimming lessons. The Holland Aquatic Center offers swim lessons for young children which we do endorse and feel is important to the safety of our young ones who live in close proximity to bodies of water. We will reexamine this offering in the future.

Thank you for your continued partnership,

We celebrated Paisley's birthday this week. She brought in Tucker at the end of the day for some extra love from some excited students.

A Peek Into Our Learning:
Math: Understanding the relationship between multiplication and division (learned our x5 and x2 facts.
Bible: Learned about Cain and Abel, Noah and the Ark, and the Tower of Babel
Reading: Celebrated our growth as a reader. We start a new unit on Monday!
Writing: Continuing to edit our personal narrative draft
Science: Learning about the Laws of Gravity and Laws of Motion

We had an amazing field trip on Wednesday with our Kindergarten buddies in Mrs. Bos' class.
We were able to walk over 2.5 miles, build a rabbit habit, and learn about horses at the Persenaire's farm. I was truly impressed with their attitude and willingness to learn outside.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: I'm looking forward to meeting with you on Monday and Tuesday evenings!  You can view your child's report card on-line prior to our meeting and I'll address any questions you may at when we are together.  An email was sent out today (Friday) explaining how to access your child's report card.  If you have trouble with that, please direct questions to the school office.

Teacher Convention: Thursday and Friday (of this up-coming week) are NO SCHOOL days for students as the teachers attend the annual Christian Educators Convention on those days.

Vision Screening Test: On October, 27th, our 3rd graders will be tested for vision.
