Friday, August 30

Week two as a fourth grader is under our belt. It is amazing to see the students begin to build relationships and be reacquainted with their peers. We continue to talk about being a Living Testimony and what it looks like to reflectors of Our great God. On Friday, the students acted as reflectors and washed (with water) all the cars in the school parking lot. It was the student's special secret and it was an incredible way to end the week.

Singing at Convocation
As for our week, our daily schedule is set and we are digging into our multiple units.
Science: We are learning about the moon and sun and their relationship to earth and each other.
Reading: We are practice specific skills that help us become stronger readers.
Writing: We are generating ideas for our personal narrative stories.
Math: Identify place value and rounding with multi-digit numbers.
Bible: Learning about God's great Story, the Bible. We are about learning specific facts and details about His great book.

Homework Folders:
On Tuesday, the students will need to bring their Homework folders back to school. At the end of the day, the folders will include...

PICTURE FOR SPANISH:
Message from Mrs. Pereira, our Spanish Teacher;
"This year, I am asking kiddos to bring in a picture of themselves living out Jesus in some way, shape or form. I am not super picky, but would love for each kiddo to have their picture up on the board in the classroom. I would love to have the pictures by the end of next week."

Volunteer Background Check
To ensure the safety of our students at all times and in all places at Rose Park we ask that all adults be granted clearance prior to having access to students. Anyone who desires to assist students, chaperone a field trip or supervise in a classroom at Rose Park must stop in the school office and fill out a short background check form.  Mrs. Steenwyk and Mrs. Chase have that form for you. Please also have your driver's license as they will need to make a copy of it.  Mrs. Rynsburger is happy to answer any questions you have about the process or results. All results remain confidential. Thank you!

AUGUST 23, 2019

We flew through our first week! Your child is learning the daily routines and settling in! It feels great to have a classroom buzzing with excitement, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new things about our great God and the world He has placed us in! Thank you for sharing your child with me each day! I'm going to try to keep this entry short and sweet with important things for you to note.

With September approaching, we will be practicing Psalm 8, our September Bible Memory. A copy for your fridge will came home today in their fish folder. Please try to practice this at home. Remember that we will recite this together various ways at school, but it would be great to have the practice at home as well. This passage is being done K-12 to create a passionate commitment to faith and development of the whole school body.
