August 25, 2017

We flew through our first week! Your child is learning the daily routines and settling in! It feels great to have a classroom buzzing with excitement, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new things about our great God and the world He has placed us in! Thank you for sharing your child with me each day! I'm going to try to keep this entry short and sweet with important things for you to note:

Playing math bingo as a whole grade!

*With September approaching, we will be practicing Psalm 8, our September Bible Memory. A copy for your fridge will come home on Monday in the homework folder. Please try to practice this at home. Remember that we will recite this together various ways at school, but it would be great to have the practice at home as well. This passage is being done K-12 to create a passionate commitment to faith and development of the whole school body.

LUNCH HELPERS:
Many of you had an interest in helping during our Wednesday lunch time. Please use this link to sign up. I appreciate your volunteering SO MUCH!

FOLDERS:
*Fish folders came home today. The folders have work from the week, parent night information for those who missed, Walk-a-thon Packet, and a small note from your child's bible lesson this week. Please return these folders by Monday.

HOMEWORK:
*We are all busy settling in to new routines, from school to soccer practices, etc. so we will ease into the year together. I recognize that families are busy with Labor Day weekend plans as well, so we'll start Reading minutes next week (8/28-9/1) and Math and spelling homework the following week (9/5-9/8).

WALK-A-THON:
Please fill out and return the sponsor sheet and money by Monday, September 11. This year, Rose Park will use the money for classroom materials and playground equipment improvements. The Walk-a-thon event will happen on September 13 and I will have more details in a couple of weeks.

BATONS:
*Please remember that Batons are due by Weds. Sept. 7. We will have a special convocation chapel at the high school at 9:00am on Weds., Sept. 7 if you would like to join us! More details will come soon.

*THANK YOU for your love, prayers, classroom donations, and support as we begin this new school year together! I am blessed to spend each day with your child!
