The sun is shining, but it does not create enough heat!  Please continue to send in those big jackets, mittens/gloves, hats, and warmer shoes.

Veteran's Day:
Today your children and I wrote a letter to a family friend of Carla Chase, our secretary. We wrote words of encouragement and comfort as this young man starts his basic training in South Carolina. I was blessed by what they chose to write.

Social Studies Project:
They even played Star Wars!
In Social Studies, we are going to be working on different projects displaying what we learned about the geography of Michigan. The students could chose to make a poster about the state symbols, a clay model of a landform in Michigan, a Great Lakes' lighthouse, or powerpoint on the states' geography. This work will happen AT SCHOOL! I will provide the clay, posterboard, and the materials I have been collecting from you. I encourage the students to find materials at home that will add to their project! We will display these projects the week of Thanksgiving and they will come home on that Tuesday before break.

Field Trip:
The third grade is invited to listen and learn from Bill Vits, a professional percussionist from the Grand Rapids Symphony. We will be traveling to Grand Rapids for this field trip. We will leave our classroom at 9:30 and return to school around 12:30. We will eat lunch at school. NO sack lunch needed.
