Sept. 1

Loving music with Mrs. Boer

We imagined what it was like to sit around the fire and hear stories passed down
from the elder. We learning how God's story came to be.

Another fantastic week as passed. Started with a loss of electricity and ended with an afternoon playing with our kindergarten buddies. Thankful for this bunch of kiddos. After two weeks of assessing and setting expectations, I am excited to move onto the teaching of 4th grade content and learning. I think the students are too!

On Thursday afternoon, we spent the afternoon playing
and creating with our kindergarten buddies.

Convocation was bright and sunny ;)

In science, we are asking questions and drawing models
about how information travels from phone to phone.

Homework: On Tuesday, you child will come home with a full folder. One side will have papers from this past week and school picture forms. The other side will have their homework for the week. Homework will include math minutes slip, reading minutes slip, and mad minute for fact practice. All of this will be due Monday, Sept. 12. Please email me if you have any questions.

You can find the yearbook option
at the bottom.
School Picture Forms: On Tuesday, a school picture form will come home in your child's folder. This form can be completed online or sent back with money. We will have school pictures either Wednesday, Sept. 14 OR Thursday, Sept. 15. I will communicate the specific day as soon as I know. PLEASE note the option to pay for a SCHOOL YEARBOOK! This is the time to pay for a yearbook that your will receive in MAY!

Field Trip Sign Ups:
Please use these links to access the sign ups for the field trips this year.

NWEA (MAP) Tests and DELTA Math Screener: We will take three MAP tests over the next two weeks. These tests will be completed on their iPad. I provide tips as they take the test that boosts their confidence and teach them how to work through standardized tests. They will have breaks and opportunities to move while taking the test. I will use the results as a view into your child's growth and development in 4th grade.

"Can Ms. Snoeyink come to my game?": I love to see my students thrive outside of school. If they are in gymnastics, swimming, soccer, baseball, karate, football etc.....I would love to watch and see them shine! If your child expressed interest in this, please let me know the time and location! Thanks :)

A Note from Mrs. Rynsburger: Watching our children play hard and re enter school after recess with big smiles and cheeks full of fresh air makes our hearts sing! But could I lift something to you early in the year and hope to suggest a solution? We've noted a change in this healthy play for some kids at the launch of this school year and this change is brought on by Pokemon cards. We LOVE the creativity, the storyline, the potential math each card offers. But, what's not included on a warning label of pokemon packages is the trades that are regretted and bring about tears, the damage that can happen to a pristine collectable, the lost cards, the 'who stole my card?', the inactive play at recess.

We're proposing a solution! Check this out! Our kind parent team has created an active outdoor play kit for every classroom!

These will be brand new and ready to rock on Tuesday! How about we save all trading card fun for home and playdates and we'll keep our children actively playing with playground balls AND? we'll have the ranch ready for our ranch hands chores soon! Thank you for keeping all trading cards at home.

Thank you for understanding and partnership! We LOVE our busy kids,
Miska
