Sept. 10, 2021

Listening to the audio book of Mrs. Piggle Wiggle

The students had a chance this week to listen and read books on Epic.

Playing some place value math games

Walk-a-thon: The walkathon packets were sent home a week or so ago. Our Parent Board would like to count the money on Monday and Tuesday. If there are any remaining packets at home, please send those in on Monday.

On Wednesday, Sept. 15, we will be heading to the High School track for our Walk-A-Thon. The students will participate in walking and playing yard games on the field with all the elementary students at Holland Christian. Families and parents are welcome to join us from 12:50-1:45.

Spelling Homework: This week has many extra events. I am going to hold off spelling for one more week. So no SPELLING for this upcoming week.

MAP Test: We will finish taking the MAP Tests this week. This is a standardized test that allows teachers a small peek into their students' understanding and we will share these with parents at conferences. We will take a reading, language, and math assessment. During the test, I provide many breaks, help them problem solve, and encourage them when they feel stuck. On Wednesday, we will complete our final test which focuses on their math understanding.

Homework: New MATH and READING homework will be sent home on Sept 13. This homework will come home in a folder on Monday. Both items are due by Monday, Sept. 20. I will accept it before that too!

Pictures Day: We will have our school pictures taken on WEDNESDAY, Sept. 15. Please complete your orders through the paper form or online form. You can also order the school yearbook on these forms!

"Can Ms. Snoeyink come to my game?": I love to see my students thrive outside of school. If they are in gymnastics, swimming, soccer, baseball, karate, football etc.....I would love to watch and see them shine! If your child expressed interest in this, please let me know the time and location! Thanks :)

Mile Run: Ms. Raak is allowing our students to run the mile on Friday. Just a heads up for those who would like to dress accordingly.

Monday Lunch Helpers: Join us for lunch! We eat lunch in our classroom from 11:30-12:00. You will have an opportunity to meet and talk with your child's classmates in 3rd grade, make sure they stay in their seats until they are finished, and give everyone permission to leave at 12:00. During this time, I will have the opportunity to meet with the other 3rd grade teachers and plan for our instruction. Right now, we are asking volunteers to wear a mask in the classroom or have a medical wavier. Thank you for volunteering and please select the dates that work for you!  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a49aaa828a6fa7-monday
