Great is Thy Faithfulness! What a special day yesterday was! There are no words to describe the glimpse of heaven that we all received when the children and grandparents together sang, "Oh How I Love Jesus!"Thank you for a great day....I went home thanking God for the love of grandparents and family friends. I watched as our students adopted their friends into their families for the afternoon. It was very obvious that all these special friends hold big places in the hearts of our students.

FISH FOLDER/HOMEWORK:

- Thank you Letter - The students, who had visitors yesterday, spent some time this morning writing a "thank you" letters to their grandparents. I sent them home in a envelope. Hope they can make it over the river and through the woods to Grandma's :)

*Here is what is coming home in the Homework Folder on Monday.

- Reading Minutes: Send in their current reading minutes slip on Monday. A new reading paper will come home on Monday in their homework folder. This is due Oct. 16.

- Words Their Way: New list of words. We will have our test on Friday, Oct. 13.

- Math Homework: Due Friday, Oct. 13 

FIELD TRIP:

Next week Wednesday, Oct. 11th, the 3rd graders will be traveling to the Outdoor Discovery Center to learn about how God created animals to adapt and the different birds of prey. I am excited for this field trip and what we will learn! We will leave at 9:00 and return around 2:00. The students will need a sack lunch with a drink included (juice box, small water bottle).

CONFERENCES:

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be the following days:

- Tuesday, October 24th from 4:00-8:00 pm

- Thursday, November 2nd from 4:00-8:00 pm

Holland Christian sent out an email was sent out this past Tuesday. Starting this past Wednesday, parents are able to register for conferences. The process of setting your conference times is a very simple one:

- Go to the PT Conference link on the front page of the Holland Christian web site – www.hollandchristian.org or go directly to http://www.virtualparagon.com/hollandchristian/conference/.

- That will bring you to the Parent/Teacher Reservation System page with Virtual Paragon (the provider of this service).  You will be asked for the master password for Holland Christian's page which is gohc (must be lowercase).
