Jan. 6 - Welcome Back!

It's good to be back!  While we all enjoy a little break from the "work" of school, it certainly does feel right to be back at it and have some direction to our days again.  Plus, I missed these kids over break! It is so great to surround myself with them all day at school.

We accomplished SO. MUCH. LEARNING. this week!  These kids were focused and diligent.  They were complete and thorough.  I don't know if it is the beginning of a new year that causes this or what, but I'll take it!

During math on Thursday, the students took the lead in teaching long division. They were SO eager to go up to the camera and teach the class. I just sat back with a HUGE smile on my face as I watched their confidence soar through the ceiling!

Classroom Needs: I am in need of more Clorox Wipes and hand sanitizer. If there is room in your grocery budget for purchasing these items, our classroom would appreciate it!

Girls' Running Club: Third- through fifth-grade girls are invited to join the Rose Park Girls' Running Club this spring. Together, we will learn about the physical and mental benefits of running as the girls gain confidence and work toward the goal of running a 5K at the end of the program. The club is designed to be fun and welcoming and there is no cost to participate.

Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. starting Tuesday, March 14 (no practices during spring break). The club ends with the Tulip Time 5K on May 6.

To sign up or for more information, contact coach Goldie Van Horn at 570-401-7181 or goldievanhorn@gmail.com.
