November 13, 2021

These students love their reading spots!

I had a few students stumped with a math puzzle.
That is a win. True problem solving happened!

We have celebrated two birthdays so far! Ivie and Olivia celebrated their 9th birthday with us. We appreciate both of them! Excited to see how God shapes them to be more like Him.

Learning how to be geographers by using Google Earth to study Michigan.

Smiles at recess!

Even with indoor recess... the students find ways to be creative!

We did some coding this week and work on a class gift for Coco.

"Swing your classmate round and round!"

NO SCHOOL - Just a reminder that our Thanksgiving Break starts on Wednesday, Nov. 24. We will return to school on Monday, Nov. 29th.

Blanket Fort Reward - Our class has earned our big reward for good behavior! The students voted to build a blanket fort in the classroom on Wednesday. The students will only need to fit items into their backpack. Your child can bring...
- a blanket
- stuffed animal
- wear comfy clothes or PJs
All these options are optional and the students are only allowed to fit items into their back pack. Thanks for helping us have a little fun in our classroom!

Because of Winn Dixie Party - The students and I have been reading Kate DiCamillo's book Because of Winn Dixie. This story is incredible and ignites the student's love for reading. The book talks about friendship, acceptance, and loving those who need the love of Jesus. We will finish the book this week and I would love to let the students watch the movie in class. The movie is rated PG. The word "idiot" and "stupid" are mentioned once in the movie. Please let me know if you have any concerns about this movie.

Also...in the book, the characters have a party and I would like to match that party in our classroom. I created a sign up of items I need for the party. If you have room on your shopping list this week, I would appreciate some help with the grocery shopping! Thank you.
Christmas Service Project - We will be collecting items to go in care packages for US military troops deployed overseas. Items needed are listed on the green paper that was sent home on Friday. Glass and aerosol containers are not allowed. We will be collecting these UNWRAPPED from Nov. 15-Dec. 13. Thank you for your contributions.
