2nd graders visiting the Pet Shop
Happy Friday!  What a fantastic week we have had in second grade!  Kid Town has been a success and the students have enjoyed it immensely!  We have seen wonderful examples of generous spirits and students who are polite and caring business boys/girls and they have also been wonderful shoppers with a lot of patience. They have had a ton of fun learning about businesses and economics!  Thanks so much to all the parent helpers who came in and glued items together, helped with ideas, ran stores, and helped us pack things up!! We could not have done it without all of you!!  Your support is appreciated and we are so thankful for the wonderful, supportive community here at South Side!

SPELLING:
New spelling lists are coming home today. Look for your child's purple spelling list in the Friday Folders.

HOMEWORK FOLDERS:
Homework folders will also begin again on Monday. Look for those with our Math and the purple Reading slips on Monday (that slip will not be due until Monday, May 1).

SPRING PROGRAM:
Our Spring Program will be TUESDAY night at Holland Christian High School. Please look for me in the main high school hallway (called main street) between 6:05-6:15pm. The program will take place in the gym, and the start time will be 6:30pm. Please drop your child off by 6:15 so we can get lined up and ready to go! An information page is in today's Friday Folder. Dress however you feel comfortable, and be aware that it may be warm in the gym.

TULIP TIME:
We will be marching in the Tulip Time kid's parade again this year on Thursday, May 11. Just wanted to send you a reminder that you might need to dig out the dutch costumes and see if they still fit! Side note: the students will be wearing gym shoes when they march--no wooden shoes needed! :) We'll have half days of school on May 10 & 11, but on the 11th your child will need to bring a sack lunch and we'll get ready for the parade, and head to our spot on the bus together (just like your child did in first grade). More details will be coming soon.
