Happy Weekend! It's been another full week. God is good!
Homework Reminders:-There will be NO SPELLING this coming week due to Maker's week! Enjoy the week off!
- New math homework and purple reading slips will be coming home on Monday. Thanks for your diligence with getting these handed in each week.
-Yellow reading incentive slips came home last Friday in the Friday Folder! Please have your child bring those in weekly if they want to participate in the March reading incentive plan!
Maker's Week Heads Up:
We will have Maker's Week NEXT WEEK, March 6-9! We are all looking forward to this different week of learning in fun and unique ways with our hands. Please feel free to join us for our Maker's Week Celebration Assembly on Friday, March 10 at 11:00 in the gym!
Field Trip:
We will be having a field trip to the Holland Police Station and the courthouse in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 15. This trip goes well with what we are learning about in Social Studies and provides a neat way to see different parts of our community. We are looking for 4 parent helpers for the afternoon. Fun Night Family Fun Night is NEXT WEEK Friday, March 10, 2017 5:30 – 8:00pm at Pine Ridge. Our class is in charge of bringing in Tootsie Pops or Blow Pop Suckers, so if you can grab a bag at the store, please bring them to the office! We need LOTS of volunteers to help make this night possible. Please consider some of the following volunteer opportunities. You can sign up at http://www.signupgenius.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
At the end of March, we will be having conferences. 2nd grade takes a different twist on conferences in the Spring--they are actually STUDENT LED. This means that your son/daughter joins us in conversation, and he/she leads the conference. We work hard at creating a portfolio and collecting work samples, and it is an awesome experience for you to see how your child has taken ownership of his/her learning. As teacher and parents, we are able to encourage and pour into your child, as well as find ways to challenge him/her for the last quarter of 2nd grade.
On March 17 at 8am you will be able to start signing up for our Student-led conferences via the HC email you will receive. HC conference slots are March 27 and March 29 from 4:00-8:00pm.

Tulip Time is right around the corner! We will once again be marching in the Thursday Kinderparade. One heads up you'll want to remember now is getting a dutch costume for your child!--it's not something you can grab at Meijer the night before. :) I saw this used dutch costume sale and thought we'd pass it along:
